Metropolitan Herman, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, visited the Monastery of the Protection of the Theotokos in Weaverville, NC. Here's some clips from Divine Liturgy on 23 September. The Chanting was provided by a visiting choir from St Tikhon's Seminary. Present were clergy and laity from several states

  • Is OUTRAGE!

  • Beautiful! Is this a Russian Orthodox, Carpatho-Rusyn or Greek Catholic. I know that your title says ORTHODOX. Thanks! What nationality does the chuch comprise of?

  • Orthodox Church in America. As far as I know, almost everyone in the movie was born in the USA: although I know a small handful (5) of the "men in black" were born in the the Ukraine. All the Seminarians (in the choir) are from the USA as well.

  • God bless Orthodoxy!!!

  • I know very little about Christ's likes and dislikes other than he seems to dislike the self-righteous and the self-assured, preferring instead the humble and trusting.

  • .. CHRIST IS RISEN!!...i love the music of the the russian as much as the byzantine......these melodies existed in russia long before the communist revolution...every orthodox church (bulgarian, greek, ethiopian etc. have their own music....it has nothing to do with communism...

  • ...i love the mucis of the russian church as well as the byzantine ...very different ...by the way this music has been around BEFORE the communist revolution...it has NOTHING to do with communism...
