This is an intricate joke, right? I surely hope so. I wonder if it also generates holographic images of men dancing with no rhythm and stinking of Drakkar Noir.
fail in the first few minutes itself... "it will use radar to detect dance activity".. u freaking nut -- why would ppl dance without any music at first? It's not the chicken or the egg syndrome, here u do have to have the dj playing first in order for ppl to dance.. i pity the fool!
I think they said $30,000? I listened to the Radio 1 thing, too, but I forget. The inventor said this first one is a sort of model -- he does not plan to market them right now (the hefty price is part of the reason I am sure), so he sees it as a sort of art project to see how compact they could make it. He said he encourages others to try to make one, and maybe give them themes and change it up(e.g. Latin Dance Party; Cowboy Dance Party, etc.), but trty to remain compact.
You idiot, this is real. Last night they had the inventor on Cbc radio 1's radio show "Q". Did you even go to the web site? Did you know that the instructions on how to make it are free under creative commons? Did you know that it was unvailed at an International modern art show? Do you have a clue what you are talking about? No, you dont.

Technical Director - "Here we have some gears... All those little cables that connect all the little things."
This is one of the most clever and funniest things I've seen in a while.
