newfuckingwave should try hearing some DVD commentaries or decent interviews about the show. He oversees most of the writing, as well as being in every other aspect of the show. Most of the topical, bold, or political episodes, along with their key moments, are presented by him to the writers.
What you meant to say was he's humble enough to not cover the credits with his own name even though he IS the show. And the tired Simpsons comparisons are always based on very shallow details.
