@SaraBanooi Actually, I think it is more frequent than what we come to believe. Many Iranian gays/lesbians keep it a secret, and are not out flaunting their lifestyle (fear of government & fear of being rejected by their families, etc.). So, it appears that it is more prevelant in the WEST only because people here are not afraid of showing who they are. Anyways, no government or person should ever harm anyone due to their lifestyle even if we don't agree with it. Love and compassion is #1.

@SaraBanooi On an official level yes there aren't many gays or lesbians. But having said that there are many people who live secret, behind the closet lives.
True I agree with that regarding pictures and executions which are not officially portrayed with actual homosexuality in Iran. However there some available in news reports, etc.
