28th video. Thank you once again to Banjario, who recorded this for me!

Nah, this isn't an April Fools' joke. I've finally gotten around to making a Kraken of the Sea rendition! :D
This song plays when you face the Kraken boss in the SNES RPG Earthbound. It's a very unusual tune.
That electronic reverb effect is really tough to nail on Mario Paint! I spent at least two hours trying to get that bass part to sound halfway decent. I tweaked the dynamics on this video quite a bit; hopefully it payed off. I must say, it feels good to take on a behemoth of a song like Kraken of the Sea. :D

Oh yeah, by the way, this video uses adolfobaez's Electronica soundfont, if you couldn't tell.

Be sure to check out JillSandwich93's version, which uses the original soundfont!

Happy April Fools! I hope I kicked this month off on the right foot. Enjoy!

  • You have no idea who John Freeman is, do you?

He was one day an office.

  • The use of dynamics in this one is just astounding! Nice job!

  • why the hell are you so damn good at electronica daaaaaaaaaaamn

  • amazing

  • amazing

  • *clap* *clap* clap*

  • BTW: If you want more views might I suggest expanding your tags with words like (SNES) (Nintendo) (Sci Fi) (Boss Fights) or something along those lines.

  • 1:12: Sounds like the monster fell down the stairs. *Monster tires to attack but falls down the stairs and misses, Ness instead grabs Mr Baseball Bat with a SMASH hit. SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSH! 60HP damage to the monster.

  • 1:00 The cymbals go along quite nicely.

  • This program is what Sid Stereo was for the Commodore 64 for any C64 bluffs that may be reading this except Sid Stereo could do a lot more without any sound set tweaking.

  • @boredymcbored You said the keywords: Modified sound font: I don't mind Garage Band remakes of songs (Which this does a fine job) but if it's on a Mario Paint I LOVE hearing the original soundfonts the best especially when the user can tweak the range/pitch of notes and getting the most out of a chipset.

That's really the purpose of users making songs on Mario Paint seeing how far they can stretch the original limitations without making it a new program which this basically is.

  • However this is not bad work at all: It just does not feel like Mario Paint and feels more like something from Garage Band or Fruity Loops.

If the title was suddenly renamed to something like those programs I wouldn't notice the difference at all.
