it is a chemical application process which permanently changes the pattern/texture of your hair from a curly texture to medium curly/ straight texture.. depending on how long you leave it in your hair, the longer you leave it in your hair the straighter it makes your hair. However If left in for too long, it can cause overprocessing of the hair resulting in hair damage.

in short,it "relaxes" the curl pattern.

@hijabibeautiful I think it is what she uses 2 moisturize w/ that weighs it down a lil bit not a relaxed hair is stiff but sense natural hair absorbs moisture quicker it disentangle tend 2 be as heavy

Why is relaxed hair always so stiff looking? I never got a relaxer put into my hair but when I get my hair pressed at the salon it has a lot more movement and body and it's also soft to the touch. Idk if my hairdresser put something in it or what but it never looked as stiff as some peoples relaxed hair seems.
