Watch Jak play a game of blackjack with human players and real cards! Jak is the dealer, it works by using special software that analyzes a webcam image and outputs its value. It utilizes a Planar touchscreen for input.

Jak is Newmarket Highschool's first entry into the Robotfest 2009 Exhibition competition. it has won 1st place in the Ontario competition and is now going to the international competition.

  • Hi there, I'm planning on a similar project for a Collectable card game. Though I'm more interested in sorting the cards.

  • sweet! that things awesome!......i dont know how i missed joining this, but i dont think im good enough 4 that anyway lol

  • The stats haven't been recorded, but the robot has a debugger mode that generates long tables of recognitions.

    recognition is very good though, I would expect 1 card out of every 2 decks to be read wrong, but Jak is currently getting some modifications done to it to increase recognition rates.

  • Are there any statistics yet how good the robot performs in black jack?
