@Seattlekid8 The speaker is on the bottom. That is why it has the little stand (I actually use that to tuck the owner's manual under it). It does have 16-character text tagging with upper and lower cases, and some punctuation. And $180?!?!?!? ON SALE?!?!? I got mine for $99 brand new.

Where dose the sound come out of the scanner? Also dose it have Alpha Tagging?

There is a manual online, or either you can use a software program called Win97. I have an earlier version of that same scanner, the Pro-2055.
