Thank god we've been farming the seas instead of dumping toxic shit into them. Now we can feed 75% of the world's population! Go seaweed farmers!

What happened to the future? someone must have stolen it.

Great video. I hadn't seen this since I went to this exhibit when when I was 9, which I really enjoyed. It was the best at the fair because it wasn't just a commercial - it portrayed a fantastical future. As I aged and gained a technical education I always thought back to this exhibit and how in the early 1960s people thought the future included unlimited cheap energy. That false belief has cost GM dearly beginning in the 1970s and culminating with the recent bankruptcy.

    Me too.

The future didn't turn out as we expected, did it?

every aspect of this future vision involves turning everything into a shopping mall.

it could have been sub titled "A highway runs through it".

Wow. This is the first time I've seen this since I was 8 years old and I remember every scene and detail like it was yesterday

My dad went on this ride. It really sucks that Flushing Meadows is really boring now, the only thing there is douche bags on skate boards and Mexican families who go there for cinco de mayo...

Pessimist meetings, then. I hate those things. At least they look cool.

To the opposite, nearly nothing of the future world vision they projected actualy happened. Be critical and analyse. (But I suspect you're very young, and have not yet leared objective case analysis... ) By the way, I absolutely do not know anything about a "fairy tail" :-)

Focal point of my earlier comment was and is :

"... Most of the recent World Fairs, concentrate on the tremendous problems there are in the world right now, and the limited chances to solve them. ..."

How is it a fairy tail? it seems like they got pretty much everything right except for the moon bases(though we could if there was much of a point) and the jungle road thing.
