George Bush may have failed to pass major reforms this year to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the country. But with the countdown underway to the 2008 presidential election it's an issue that's already dominating campaigning. Some critics are arguing that the United States is busy protecting borders abroad in Iraq and Afghanistan - but neglecting their own at home, as Shaun Devitt reports.

  • Wow there are so many uneducated people posting here. How can you talk about how Mexicans are dumb but you cant even use correct grammar. Here's an Idea; learn about economics, politics, and read into things like NAFTA which took probably at least half of the Mexican populations jobs. Then come to videos like this and argue your point because a lot of these posts look like they were written by idiots. I'm ashamed to say I'm from a country where people have so much hate.

  • @MrMAMEIRO Being a Mexican is great and i'm sure that you are basically good people, however being an illegal border crosser is a criminal offence, it's as simple as that. It is no different if a US citizen crosses into Mexico illegally, so stop trying to make out that you are a victim of some terribly unfair law.

  • Yep, that's what all the crims say, but it doesn't excuse them or make them right.

Y'never know, you might be a film star one day, on that TV show, "Borders".

  • @ozzirt yea u are right, i wasbrought to this country as a 7 year old, im 19 now, and i am fully aware im considered a criminal, and i accept the consequences of my crime, but hey, a mans gotta do what hes gotta do, to bring money to the table, and feed his family.

  • @calfan3 You don't have to listen to me, but you do have to live within the law or suffer the consequences.

I don't give a flying fuck, I don't live in the USA, but that does not mean that I advocate breaking the law. As far as I'm concerned that fact alone should be reason to have you deported as you have no respect for the law.

  • @ozzirt im an illegal immigrant and let me say this.

I knoiw what my parents did was wrong, but this is life man, WHY THE FUCK would we listen to people like you? you think we're gonna settle for life in mexico just because people like you dont want us here? LMAO, survival of the fittest man. Im not trying to insult you, but rather explaining to you, people will do whatever they need to do for a better life, i dont care what people say about us, in the end we are better off then them

  • las leyes americanas ni los americanos las siguen, auenque los mexicanos salvadorenos hondurenos somos americanos, vivimos en en el continente americano o no ?

  • We are all subject to laws over which we have no control, but that does not give us the right to break them without penalty.

Other than that those border patrol blokes are right up themselves.

  • @MrMAMEIRO Being anti illegal immigration has NOTHING to do w/racism.
