I'm not gonna lie, there is some "hard aggression" in some forms of Tai Chi. I know that Chen style has a ton of explosive fa li and fa jing in the Cannon Fist form and usually has a little bit of fa li in every form.

@Duskpwner All styles of Chinese martial arts can be called Kung Fu. Taichi, like bagua, is just an internal style, while styles like hung gar and the many styles of northern shaolin are external. Kung Fu roughly translates to "skill through hard work and dedication", so it is not solely in regard to martial arts despite popular use of the term. The translation for Martial Art in Chinese is Wushu. But it is important to note the difference between traditional wushu and modern wushu.
That's pretty shallow to say. Every martial arts has his own way of fighting/defending and their own philosophy about winning or loosing.Tai Chi is more self-defence, but there are forms of Tai Chi that are aggresive aswell.
