What a waste of bandwidth

I just got a C550 on Amazon for $112.

Your iPhone won't replace your GPS since it won't have Text-To-Speech, so you will be losing features like knowing when to turn and onto what street.
Keep your Garmin. I was actually thinking of purchasing that model. How has it worked for you?

Reminds me of when I recorded a podcast on I-95 in Connecticut a few years ago sitting in construction traffic with the convertible top open.

I would wait and see how well the gps works first, especially in vehicles, before you ditch the car gps. Do you need to be connected to the net to use it, or can you use it offline? Will you have to purchase a map? Some important questions about iPhone are unanswered at this moment.
This is the C550, and I am going to keep it. I figured out that I can bluetooth to it, so I can make calls via Garmin from my iPhone and still get the turn-by-turn right in front of me. For what I paid and what it would sell for, it makes more sense to keep it.
