Ex-forces and homeless

It is estimated that 12% of the u.k.'s homeless are ex military. They are on the streets because of a variety of factors. PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder is one. Adjusting to civilian life is also very difficult as the structure they once knew has now gone. These people have served queen and country for what? The homeless guy in the video was just one of the many in the documentary. There were other cases in the documentary who were homeless having left the army suffering from PTSD and coped with it by abusing alcohol. The more extreme cases have been left out but the message is still the same.

I like your attitude about "nobody gets left behind", those homeless people are equally deserving of a standard of living comparitive to our own.....>>> not living on a street and eating out of a garbage can...

1Patient. i agree everyone on the streets deserve to have security and comforts we enjoy but this was to highlight the fact that after every conflict there are mental casualties. i didn't do the commentry on the video so it was not my personal views.

it is now a fact ..u r needed 4 dangerous mission 4 your country..after that new politicion come in ur treated as dirt. yr past mission is history n it goes everywhere. if u r wounded in war n after that it is just that u r unlucky soldier. very sad...i always wonder ..why fight n die 4 your country n rewarded with peanut pension 2 survive like those marines n commandos n worse ,treated with disregard by citizens of your country..i live with that..

The Military Covenant is now being ditched and replaced with pensions/War disability pensions/War widows pensions and Disability Living Allowance all slashed !!! Oppose this Governments disgusting attitude towards veterans !!!!!

I think it is absolutely discusting that soldiers who risk there life get treated like this when they return :( It makes me sick, I am thinking of joining the army as I am picking my options at school!

@LordofBarons If you want to understand politics, look into finance i.e banking. If you want to understand humans, listen to yourself and others, then you shall understand that we are all the same. Its the golden rule: if you want something done properly, youd better do it yourself. Otherwise, its best to keep shtum and be grateful for what you do have, as opposed to looking at what you lack.
