You will need
Brasso
2 soft rags
And a non-slip mat

I recommend 'Exact Audio Copy' (EAC) for Ripping CD's

If you CD is 'Copy Controlled', you my need to polish the disc to a Pristine condition to get an accurate Rip.
Is your arm tired yet :-)

  • Pro? Yet I see him cleaning it in a circular motion, which makes it worse.

  • @superpiratecupcake If you want to spend the extra time and energy going form the inside to the outside edge you are welcome to. I have never found it necessary to achieve a playable/copyable disc.

  • I gave this an honest try (I already had the Brasso). But I had little success. It looks like you polish the disc for 2 minutes (tops) in the video. I polished mine for a good 20 minutes. It doesn't have any deep scratches just a lot of surface scuffing from riding around in the car in a CD case. It looks only marginally better. I was able to successfully copy the data from it (post-polish). I'll report on how it plays in the future (before it skipped and jittered).

  • @TheFozzwad Are you using the old or the new formula? The new one in the plastic bottle is not very good. Also if you need to remove a heavy amount of plastic, be sure to turn over your rag to a fresh spot and apply more brasso.

  • Sorry, i don't live in the USA. Your best bet is tour local hardware shop.

  • i got the new bottle and it made more scratches but the stuf you used here looks like it works great

  • @badfish8592 That might be the new formula. I have heard people having problems with it.

  • Been restoring some of my earlier albums today, as it was a job long-overdue. My preferred method is using the very soft cotton wool balls, and polishing the discs using autoglym super resin polish (car wax). Unbelievably good for taking out scratches and restoring the discs to a brand new condition. I had some albums which were in a pretty rough state. These now look like brand new and a mirror-finish. Good tip on using a non-slip mat. An old mouse-mat works well.

  • holy shit it works!

  • @miseryland11 ebay walmart maybe walgreens

  • New brasso sucks

  • It worked 4 me, my ole forza 2 runs fine again :)

  • dammit, i got the new formula and it scratched it up but still works.
