Certain events in the Commonwealth Games are often criticised for lacking depth in quality. This cannot be said about the men's middle distance races. They are often classics, with some of the best runners in history making their mark. Keino,Clarke, Jipcho,Foster, Stewart,Rono,Moorcroft....need I go on ?Here's the closing stages of five great races from '66 to '82.
GREAT footage of Ian Stewart- this is a fine example of his speed, and shows how he deserved the bronze medal he got by passing Prefontaine in the final 20m in the '72 Olympics.
