Love her straightforward approach to the material, it belies her incredible capabilities. She is a standard in a way, not just that she sings pitches dead center but that she interprets it dead center. The other singers may do more away from that center, more dramatic interpretations in various directions, but Rosemary just gets the song across, and that's it. There was one heck of a reserve of power you could sense, a kind of restraint where she stays out of the way of the song itself.
As a Peggy Lee Fan, I hate to admit it, but Ms.Clooney does a damn fine job.
