you're thinking of the second time he played the song. he played it twice the first time the prisoners were rowdy as fuck and the second time they obviously knew what the song meant to them but the still even then cheer a little bit this is definitely edited though... great album more musicians these days could take a page or two or more from the book of johnny cash

I wish this wasn't edited. The cheering during the song never happened and I think it ruins it. My dad saw this on TV and said that the prisoners were silent, some crying, while he sang. Then erupted after he finished each song. Would've been better unedited.
