Final Fantasy 7 - How to max the "vitality" stat

With strength maxed, vitality can be maxed without any additional story-related progress needed. For this, only the enemy called "spiral" is needed. This enemy has around 2800 HP so you'll need to drop it down. I prefer to use the enemy skill Trine for this because it uses relatively little MP and deals 2000 damage. Above 2700 is not recommended. For restoring MP, I use the "MP absorb" materia and "steal" and make use of the annoying "hippogriff" with its hazardous "L2 confu" spell it has (which causes any character not immune to confusion and whose level is even (a multiple of 2) to become confused). If you're really running low on MP (less than 50), the "sea worm" found at the beaches is a very dependable target. Not only does it drop "turbo ethers", you can use use "steal" with "MP absorb" on it to draw out some of its MP. In addition, it's a very easy enemy that seems very slow to act and is quite weak.

Like with strength, you only need to go to about 220 as armor will provide that extra boost. Compared to 128 (for the "defense" stat), the damage is only about 70%, which is sort of disappointing, but when you take on Emerald Weapon or Ruby Weapon, this will be very helpful for survival. The 70% number also catches my attention. A doubling is resulting in 70% of the damage. This hints to a negative (inverse) square root involved (i.e. "CharacterDefense^-0.5"). Also, at the 6-minute marker in this video, something a bit unusual happens - 4 pieces of materia get mastered at the same time (two different types, too (the usual - "exit" and "all")). Also, note how much gil I've got already. Yep, over a quarter of a billion, still a bit less than 20% of my record....

if ya want to max all stats, morph stuff in the crashed gelinka, its a little bit later in the game but its good for maxing everyone out. maxed CLoud out all the way and just laughed fighting ruby lol, his shadow flare doin 300 dmg and what not. neways, good spot early on. respect.

Strength is faster to max out via "heavy tank" in Gongaga. Vitality is faster to max out via "spiral" around the Mideel area outside the forest. Both of these can be maxed on disk 1. The sunken plane is best for dexterity and luck. Magic and spirit are very slow to raise but the sunken plane is the only place to max those out.

I am imperessed, I have done all of that. But one thing I havent done is get all that money! :O, my highest is 14 mill. lol, well done though pal.

Having that kind of gil is easier than you think - just master some "all" materia then sell the mastered ones for 1.4 million gil.  By having nothing but "all" materia on Cid's Javelin (5 double growth slots), every AP you get, in a sense, is like getting 400 extra gil. Defeat a headhunter (worth 80 AP) and it's like having 32,000 gil. Now, flood your materia slots with alls and that same headhunter can be worth 100,000 gil....

FF7 was the first RPG I really got into and it started my interest in RPGs. At the time, I was used to there being maybe around 20 to 30 levels in a game. I found the fifth leveling ground area to be extremely fast and I was already into the 50's. I wondered how many levels there were in the game (thinking of things like platform levels or Spyro 2 levels), and I kept going until I hit level 99 where it stopped. Because of this, I've, since, been involved in reaching very high levels early.

This is dumb, just use yuffies conformer with mega all materia and she will kill them all in one hit saves tons of time

I believe in the game there are weapons that you can get that have 4 times the Exp gained from every kill.
