  • Pozhalsta !

    :)

  • Felicitation cher ami, vous êtes fantastique.

  • Merci...:-)

  • "Ale to banda" (I hope I phrased that right) What a group of revelers and what a pose...SUCH ATTITUDE! Too bad there isn't a video of them dancing to this great song.

I enjoyed the song but I LOVE THIS PHOTO! Where on earth did you find it? I would have loved to have been at that party. You always find the perfect photo for your songs. Thanks...

  • Your "phrase" is adequate and correct. I wish I could join them shaking legs according to that crazy rhythm...:-)

  • MY Great Grandmother used to dance to this as a little girl, when she'd visit rich relatives in Shreveport. Once, Palesteena came on Public Radio. She broke into a very good Charleston, & later told us there were recordings of a Yiddish Charleston. Decades later, when we were helping close up the house she'd danced in...one of the last grand mansions on the grandest boulevard...we found the record this is on. It's safely archived, now, in a cousin's St.-Jean-Cap-Ferrat Villa.

  • Just stumbled onto this and is a very fine tune. . .I'am 64 and can remember some of these tunes thru the years. ... Thanks for the TUNES. . .real old !!!

  • hm bin selber aus Frankfurt

  • The reference to Henry Ford is there because he was strongly anti-Semite and until the Nazis really became notorious by the late 1930s, he had no hesitation in saying so.

  • I like Charleston, This may not be American but it is Yiddish version. So be it.

  • 1927. what is it about this aged picture of these glamorous kids and this haunting jazz melody that makes this moment in time look so wonderful?

i doubt a video containing a picture of a group of kids from 2007 with miley cyrus playing in the background could ever dare to have the same effect. bleh.

  • this doesnt really sound like the charleston to me, but it is a very good tune.

  • Take that, Henry Ford!

  • Эхьт вундербар!

  • MAN I LOVE THIS!!!

  • It's all very Evelyn Waugh 'Vile Bodies' - worth a read!
