*NoypiPoAko* -- First of all, 'Salamat' means 'Thank you' in Tagalog (what you call the language in the Philippines). And 'Kaibigan' means 'Friend'. So it just says THANK YOU FRIEND in English! :)
I dedicate this song to my ex-classmates (oooh! that sounds bad). To the Special Science Class of St. Ferdinand College Batch 04-09! I said 'ex-classmates' reasonbeing, I left the Philippines about two years ago. I was with them for two years (1st yr to 2nd yr HS), and I decided to write them a song before I left. I guess they liked it because they made in the theme song of that section. *wink! Anyway! I really love them and miss them too! Can't wait to see them too!
I solemnly apologize for the fact that the words of the song is a bit cheesy and amateur-like. I like it though because it was for them!:D
Anyway! ENJOY!
LYRICS:
I.
Do you know what you mean to me
You're a good friend and a part of my family.
You never took me down, and never laughed at me like a clown
II.
You're always here by my side
And you never left me behind
You simply took away my sadness
And you replaced it with your happiness
Chorus:
You gave me hope, you gave me strength
You gave me everything to face my world today
You gave me love, you gave me care
You gave me what I need, that's why I say,
Salamat kaibigan.
III.
I'm so thankful you're always here.
Everytime I drop a tear.
You are always my crying shoulder
A person I can always bother
IV.
A simple thank you is not enough
For all the help you gave, when times are tough
So if you'll ever need a helping hand
I'll always be here, I'll understand.
Chorus:
You gave me hope, you gave me strength
You gave me everything to face my world today
You gave me love, you gave me care
You gave me what I need, that's why I say,
That's why I say...
That's why I say,
Salamat kaibigan...
Salamat Kaibigan.
