米国ダートマス大学の大学院生で、言語としての日本語に関心があり、「漢字」や「日本の歌詩」の研究をしているイケメン。

日本の演歌や日本のフォークソングを翻訳して、オリジナルの詩の意味を損ねることなく
曲のリズムにあうよう英語バージョンの歌詩に再翻訳しているの。

日本語の歌詩を英語に直訳するだけでも大変なのに
曲のリズムにあうよう「英語バージョンの詩」に変換して、演奏までやっちゃうから、すごいよね。

今回の「川の流れのように」のボーカルは、

i must say this is the best translation ever :))

i really appreciate the effort of translating it cause it is so hard to do when the song full of philosophy behind it ...

i wish my great sensei would be still alive to listen to the English version as this was his favorite song ............

Thank you for the English version of Kawa no nagare no you ni. I have fogotten Japanese. It is a very beautiful song. She was my favorite childhood singer/movie star.

I don't understand japanese but I think the lyrics is direct translation japanese-english, isn't it? So, it is a sad song indeed....thanks for uploading this english version...any mandarin version, maybe?
