Some items are expensive but you get what you pay for. The quality is the best you can buy. It is a shame it is not owned by Brits, I agree...but very little else of value is, to our shame. As for "arrogant counter staff"... I worked there myself in the pharmacy part-time for a year, and mixed with a wide selection of staff...all very pleasant, helpful, and far from arrogant.

There was a time when photography in Harrods was forbidden. However, I had no trouble and saw others taking shots in there too.

I presume that there was a change of policy. After all, they certainly get free publicity from this video

I have visited the store 3 times in consecutive years. Each time I saw Mr Al Fayed in the store checking things were running smoothly!! A true retailer!!
