The English translation is completely out of place. In fact, it is impossible to find a decent translation of Godunov, something that makes the understanding of the whole opera by non-Russian speakers extremely challenging.

@pepperdd1 I think (and I am a native Russian speaker) that it is very difficult to translate this, as the language is very archaic, and peppered with expressions that don't all have English counterparts in meaning.

Many pieces are cut out in this version. I'm not saying it's bad, just interesting... One must really know the opera to follow the plot and not get lost in what is happening.
