Recent unrest in Tibet has once again raised questions about media freedom in China. The gulf between Western perceptions of this developing superpower and China's desire to control the message now seems bigger than ever.

  • @joeca1030 so every single person in china does not want freedom? because thats what youre implying, idiot.

  • Notice the guy said the reporters in SF fully reporting those incidence but didnt mention the news being biased by showing pictures that does not go with the words or what was spoke while scenes were shown. It makes a big difference eg If I was reporting on the news and showing french soliders attacking the indians then say british troops are sent in to control the riot. I really discredit this guy for being negilgent. These scenes on our television has been watched by people all over the world.

  • When the guy disagreed about demonisation & brought up san fransico as an example it is quite funny why he didnt mention BBC. Now I am British & I know that British journalism is one of the best & sceptical in the world. But, with recent events it is certainly very biased, therefore this must have been done intentionally. These guys are not stupid & they certainly know the truth about tibet & certainly know what a massive impact their broadcasting can do. There is something very fishy going on

  • What you said is true to a certain extent. But from China's history there have been alot of political scavengers trying to manipulate freedom for their own interests. Eg. what happened in the Opium war. and China still have this thorn stuck in its heart. Can't blame a country to be very cauticous since 64 countries attacked China & distributed land. But I totally agree with you in all your statements. But you have to bear in mind it is not that simple.

  • why the fuck do u care? why do u want us to change? what do u gain from it

  • freedom = a fair good world? you must be brainwashed

  • China will do as China pleases. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. How can China ever change?

  • China has to realise that if it wants to be an active member of the global economy than it will need to change and be more transparent.

You cannot open up to the world on one hand then tell the world to mind their own business when they see a regime that denies freedom of worship to millions.

  • Title sounds like an oxymoron
