"Good morning," I greeted my mom, gulping down a spoonful of cereal.

"Morning, Sweetie" she replied, walking over to the fridge of pull out her fully prepared lunch. "So, are you excited?" She mused, getting ready for work.

Raising my eyebrows up at her, I looked up from my phone. "For what?" I asked, confused.

"The first day of senior year of course," she smiled. "I remember when I was just a teenager. Isn't it still such a big deal for kids?"

"I guess," I mumbled, shrugging my shoulders. "But I technically have already been at school a lot for lacrosse, so it's just lame and tiring," I admitted, walking over to the sink with my bowl.

"Come on, honey, let loose," my mom almost pleaded, the winkles in her forehead slightly showing. Biting down on my bottom lip, I mentally hoped she wouldn't continue, but she did... "I'm your mother, therefore I can easily notice that you haven't been the same—"

"Mom," I sighed, slamming the faucet off. "We don't need to have this talk, alright? I'm perfectly fine, and I haven't changed. There's no reason to need to worry. I guess I'm just a little upset because of Demi."

Slightly taken back, she slowly nodded. "What happened?"

"Just another fight," I shrugged it off. "But anyways, I better get going." Giving her a kiss on the cheek, I grabbed me phone. "I'll see you tonight, okay? Bye!"

"Hey, guys," I greeted my friends, walking up to our hang-out spot before the first bell.

"Hey, man," Joe, my best friend greeted me back. "Sore from yesterday's practice?" He asked curiously.

"Like hell, man," I admitted, rubbing the back of my neck. When Joe nodded in sympathy, I went on. "Liam needs to learn to shut his mouth, or else every practice is going to be as shitty as yesterdays."

Grinning, he nodded. "Agreed."

"Coach already spoke to him this morning. Hopefully, he got through to him and practice will be better today," David added.

"Guys," Chelsea frowned. "Can we NOT talk about sports for once when we get together before class?"

"Girls, anyone?" Joe then offered, a huge grin growing on his face.

Rolling her eyes, she shook her head. "Pig," she huffed under her breath as the two of them started to bicker.

"So, did you break up with Demi yet?" David asked, turning his attention to me.

Taken back by his sudden question, I slowly shook my head. "No," I admitted. "It's been hard since I had a lot going on. Plus, I don't want to hurt her."

"Well, when are you going to? You need to grow some balls, dude. If you don't do it soon, she's just going to attack you more and more until she expects certain things from you," he warned, cautiously.

"Yeah, I know," I sighed.

"Speaking of her, I think she's making her way over right now," he informed, looking past me.

"Well, I'm out. I'll see you later," I quickly mumbled, making my way down the hall and towards my locker. It was only eight in the morning and I didn't want to have to deal with Demi...

Opening my locker that I had since freshman year, I put away some of the books I had already prepared and brought with me to school. Secretly pulling out my phone, I checked the time, hoping that I could head straight to class and just be on time.

"Well, that's nice," I heard someone mumbled under their breath.

Looking up, I turned my head to the side, only to find a small figure standing beside me, checking out the locker next to mine. "Is something wrong?" I directed my attention at her, turning to face her body.

As she slowly turned to meet my eyes, my heart stopped beating, my stomach dropped and my throat tightened. There was something about the way the girl looked, or how she wore her hair... But it couldn't be who I thought it was, could it?

"Sorry," she apologized innocently. "I thought the lockers here came with a lock, but I guess not," she smiled sheepishly, turning to motion at the empty locker next to mine.
