It is common for garbage trucks in Taiwan to play music as they drive around so people know when to bring out their garbage. Here is an example in Tainan. For more outdoor music in Tainan see http://www.isidorsfugue.com/2011/09/outdoor-musical-performances-in-tainan.html

  • why it's funny thing?

  • Wow, this is the best trash truck song version I've ever heard. Usually it's kind of a harsh synth sound. I recently found out what I've been for years calling The Trash Truck Song is Tekla Bądarzewska-Baranowska's Maiden's Prayer.

  • @augpeh Well all around in Taiwan now, they are playing a different tone, but sometimes or actually mainly in Taipei, do they still use the Fur Elise tone. That garbage truck isn't the governments, its a private refuse company. The governments is the bright yellow one and they usually travel in two trucks. 1 yellow one for regular trash and 1 white one for recycled materials.

  • What I got in Taipei was just a plain old monotone version of Beethoven's Fur Elise or this tune. Nothing like this rich piano version.

Ps: Does anyone know how to type the 'u' with two dots above it?
