Richard IIID is a (virtual) Theatre production designed by the Utrecht School for the Arts (HKU) students for Design for Virtual Theatre and Games (DVTG) department. The 'Shakespeare Project' tells the story of the nephews of King Richard the 3rd who were imprisoned in the London Tower (as written by Shakespeare) but their story never got told until now. Two Participants are chosen from the audience to play the role of the two nephews and rightful heirs to the throne. One is immobile, but can still see (through a set of Video goggles) and the other is mobile, but blind. They circle around a Green Screen environment but they see the virtual Dungeons in wich they are superimposed. They need each other to reach the throne room, to stop the coronation ceremony of their uncle Richard. But will they succeed or betray each other for possession of the crown?
