According to will.i.am, founding member and frontman of Black Eyed Peas, the "Yes We Can Song" was inspired by Senator Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and especially the speech Obama gave following the New Hampshire primary. He states, "It made me reflect on the freedoms I have, going to school where I went to school, and the people that came before Obama like Martin Luther King, presidents like Abraham Lincoln that paved the way for me. . . ." Dylan says, "The speech was inspiring about making change in America and I believe what it says and I hope everybody votes."
The music video includes excerpts from Obama's speech and appearances from several celebrities: Scarlett Johansson, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Kate Walsh, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Adam Rodriquez, Kelly Hu, Adam Rodriquez, Amber Valetta, and Nick Cannon. "I'm blown away by how many people wanted to come and be a part of it in a short amount of time. It was all out of love and hope for change and really representing America and looking at the world," will.i.am said.

@ImpossibleVictoryUSA Yes absolutely I decide what is good for me! When we are children, that is the job of our parents to make choices for us. Then when we are adults, it is up to us. I was lucky to have good parents, their guidance helped me when I was young, now I can do the same for my kids....When they are able to make wise choices for themselves based on rational thought, not based on superstition and faith, then I'll know I did a good job raising them.

@skwijeebob1 I never said anything about being happy, or what society would consider "positive." You can be happy all your life and everyone can think you're a good person and you can still die and go to Hell. If you reject Jesus you are rejecting God, if you're not severing God, who are you serving? As already mentioned, Yourself, you're doing things to make yourself happy. If you don't believe in God, or evil, how do you believe in Good?

Well that's the lie that religious folk like yourself endlessly repeat. Goodness comes from us, NOT from mythology and superstition...as I said before you seem unable to extend your thinking to imagine people WITHOUT religion being good, moral and ethical.
