@AsgarthaWitch She took me by surprise at first, but she grew on me. Boobs notwithstanding, it was a pretty good video. There are plenty of videos by male participants. Some are good and some aren't. There are a couple that are outstanding who cover compression, eq, harmonics, etc. I don't know about tattoos, but there are some long hair dudes out there.

I am quite annoyed by the appearence and the attitude. Then again I am a girl who s into music and technology, so boobs, dresses and weird head pieces are not gonna do it for me. Is there a version of the lesson with a cool male sound engineer with strong arms, tatoos and long hair or something? Cause I m not giving you even 9$ let along 99 for a video with a savy chick trying to pretend she is a playboy mansion bunny...... You re loosing on your authority that way, keep your fantasies 4 bedroom

What could have been a useful tutorial has been ruined by so many pointless visual and audio distractions.

@friendim I'm not so sure? Sounds to me that your attention is fully divided into fractions.

Don't you worry about it dear - we'll figure it out for ourselves.

Seriously??? Whats with the frikkin ears??? The body of an adult with the mentality of a child?? If you were just YOURSELF, instead of trying to be something to 'impress' or add 'appeal' then these videos would be getting many many more thumbs ups!
what do you prefer pro tools or cubase? I'm really used to cubase interface, but they say pro tools bla bla in world-class studio bla bla.. can pro musician/producer be satisfied with cubase?

@0rth0doX I used both at the studio, it just really depends on the situation. If I'm going to be the only one working on a session I will honestly gravitate towards Nuendo/Cubase (unless the client wants something else). But if I'm sharing the project Pro Tools may be better because it's the "standard" and it's more likely to transfer to another studio. I really believe in knowing multiple software programs, but go with whats comfortable. Cubase gets used in professional studios all the time.

Should I buy a copy of Cubase studio 4 for about $80 bucks (I'm running Windows XP), or is fully dated?

@luvfinger You could get away with using version 4 if thats what you can afford. They seem to add more features to each version but the functionality doesn't change much. And really the only thing you loose by using the "studio" version is track count and certain plugins. But if you just need to record and edit then I say go for it. Also I know for a fact that you can get a student discount on the new versions of the programs as well, so maybe look into that.

Do you go over mic techniques with instrument amplifiers, drums, vocals and such? I know that isn't focusing on cubase but I was just wondering. I might try it out :)

@Zarag0d No sorry. It's pretty much running Cubase. I go over connecting external gear, but not micing.
