Unknown Artist - Shy Boy (Songwriter Demo)

Here is a great unknown songwriter acetate for the song Shy Boy, written by Arthur Resnick and Edward Shapiro. If you search BMI by song title this is the 7th one that comes up on their list for Shy Boy. I picked this beauty up last year on ebay, along with six other demos (with credited artists performing on them) and unknown artist demo acetates. This was one of my two favorites among them who's artist was unknown. I really want to know who this is singing this version! George McCannon III recorded this song (but this version on this acetate is a lot better than his, and it is not him singing here). I tried to contact Artie Resnick to see if he could give me some input on the song, without any luck, can somebody get me in touch with him? Could it be him or Eddie Shapiro singing on here? This record sounds like an obvious candidate for Bobby Vee (think along the lines of Take Good Care Of My Baby, and this being somewhat similar), so I suspect this song is from about 1961 or 1962. I do not know who is singing here and any help figuring it out would be much appreciated! While I have not played this particular track on Topshelf Oldies yet, mostly due to the condition of the disc and the quality of audio it produces (as heard in my video here), you can hear great records similar to this one live every night on www.topshelfoldies.com! I haven't been able to confirm that, and can find no airchecks of Clark available to hear to compare the voice...the facts dont add up though since the obit says he wrote the song, when this song here was written by resnick and shapiro and that is confirmed by the record label of the george mccannon III version of the song on mercury.

That's definitely Ellie Greenwich's voice doing the background, if that's any help.

LOL! Bobby Vee was my first thought when I heard this!

I tried to reach Artie Resnick a couple of years ago about his bizarre tune 'Here We Go' but I never got a reply [any insight on this tune would be muchly appreciated as well...] The last tune I saw Artie trying to hawk was a tune about the Amy Fisher scandel.
