This reissue of one of Sun Ra's original 1970s recordings for Saturn Records captures the jazz icon performing with his Outer Space Arkestra, offering up a mixture of standards and originals. The latter are represented by the title track, a cacophonous sonic wash that has the Arkestra going at full tilt, and an untitled track that highlights Ra's unconventional piano work. Treatments of "My Favorite Things," "Tenderly," and "Black Magic" are more instantly recognizable, but no less inspired.

Personnel: James Jacson (flute, bassoon); Danny Davis , Marshall Allen (flute, alto saxophone); Eloe Omoe (bass clarinet); John Gilmore (tenor saxophone); Ahk Tal Ebah (trumpet, flugelhorn); Richard "Radu" Williams, Ronnie Boykins (bass guitar); Luqman Ali (drums); Atakatune (conga drum).Posted by dOk
