I wrote the song "You're Mine" for my daughter's baptism. The song "Grace Greater Than All My Sin" by Julia Johnston and Daniel Towner served as the intro. St. Paul Lutheran Church Worship Team presented the song. (Aaron Paulsen helped me w/the chorus arrangement and title.)
Here are the Lyrics to "You're Mine"
By David Taylor (c)2005
God calls us to the waters, to be his sons and daughters,
Our sins are washed away by living streams.
The sacrifice was made, as on the cross he stayed,
Hear the words his father said to him,
Today you are my child; with you I am well pleased,
Today you are my child, you're mine.
It's by grace we have been saved, we are justified by faith,
So that he will call us his own.
As I come up from the water, I hope to hear my father,
Say these very words to me.
Today you are my child; with you I am well pleased,
Today you are my child, you're mine.
As your parents bring you here today, as testimony of their faith
We join the congregation as they pray.
For today you join the family, and we sing so joyfully,
For today, you'll hear your father say...
Today you are my child; with you I am well pleased,
Today you are my child, you're mine.
