@Birdpoofool You can't understand if you don't train to be a Powerlifter yourself. The feeling you have before, during and after lifting, It can't be explained. It"s all a big psychological preparation, as the previous comment said from "peterdoes" You need to be slaped, yelled at,in order to get the adrenaline and the focus up. Watch other videos of powerlifters, almost all have these habits ;)

Powerlifting is more about brute force. Yes, the deadlift is a technical lift compared to a bicep curl, but pales in comparison to a snatch/CnJ.
So yeah, they can psych up all the way without worrying about channeling the energy the wrong way, unlike oly lifts.

Why does everyone keep trying to compare fighters with powerlifters/strongmen. They do NOT train for martial arts. In the same way martial artists do NOT train for maximal strength. It is similar to comparing a banana and a cloud. Each one dominates in their respective sport; and has no requirement to prove themselves elsewhere. They do what they love.
