I don't think they have forgotten. I don't think we ever truly could. Burnt forever in our hearts and souls.

I come from a christian family, I myself am not but why are we arguing about ones faith? He loves jesus and talks to god, and you know what im glad that he upholds the faith our country is based on. Where were you when the world stopped turning? I was 8 years old and sitting next to my dad in my living room.

@clarew59 you are an idiot you and all these other people dont get it it's not about if your a christian or what religion, you follow what god says that you believe in your heart in him cuz he died for you and the only reason you people are here watching this is because of god and it is only because of god our country has survived god just wants us to follow him and tell others about him thats all its so easy but yet we mock him and despise him and christians are not pious find a true christian

Where does it say that only Americans are pious christians? He is talking about himself! He knows Jesus and talks to God.

He said that he knew Jesus and talked to God... He does... where does it say that only people in America are pious Christians? Unless that is what you want to turn every message into, I can't see it.
I personally don't even believe in a higher being, but I am pretty sure that others' can have their own opinions on the matter. Regardless, this is an excellent song and sends a great message. No matter what or who you believe in or don't.
Get over yourself.

I was seven years old, but I'll never forget the day. Long live the red white and blue

Sorry, the local newspaper carried that day a picture of Virginia Tech students going out to the drill field , making a circle and joining hands. Veery bittersweet, that picture, considering what happened at Virginia Tech in April of 2007.BTW, I haven't read the Sunday funnies in ages, but the 10th anniversary of 9/11is on a Sunday and every American comic strip writer and artist will be paying tribute to the victims and heroes of that day. And President Bush was a great leader on that day!!!!!
-
Looking back, that was a question that I'm sure was asked a lot that day and in the days that followed. But when I got home and watched those events unfold for the first time, my heart sank and I was horrified and I ciried and cried. I think that this great song pretty much covered what Americans what thru that day and in the days that followed. You know, I have relatives in New York and thank God none of them died that day! And I'm from Virginia and there's picture in the local from that day
I'm glad he mentions God and Jesus. That he doesn't forget why America came to be and that loving your neighbor as you love yourself is important......
