A compilation of video and pictures from incidents the Berwyn Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to in 2007. For the year, BHVFD operated on 82 working fires and 65 extrications.

The Berwyn Heights VFD (Station 14) is located in Prince George's County, Maryland, about 1 mile from the University of Maryland, College Park campus and 5 miles from the nation's capital, Washington, D.C.

Station 14 currently operates four types of apparatus to handle the emergencies and incidents that occur in the area - two heavy rescue squads, a tractor-drawn aerial ladder truck, two basic life support ambulances and a rescue boat.

  • why do you park the tillers in the yard ive seen that in prince georges county that happens alot. just to get it out of the way? or to get ladders off without and engine right behind you?? lol

  • Positioning. With structures not accessible from roadways (front and/or rear, depending on 1st or 2nd due), we sometimes have to park the ladder truck in a yard.

  • cool video. wheres the nearest engine coming from? never seen a vollie house with just a truck and rescue. thats awesome! does the truck have a pump?

  • Branchville (Co. 11) and Greenbelt (Co. 35) are the closest engine companies. The squad and truck do not have pumps.

  • @NamaoFire art of dying - you don't know me

  • who sings this song???

  • haha nice

  • Parkin the truck in the yard is for positioning. Correct me if I'm wrong it's also for getting your scrub area (hitting two sides of the fire building)

  • Great job.
