First get your facts clear...it seems either you are Jealous or did not do your homework well .....
When she participated in Miss Universe 2008, she placed 1st runner-up in the Beach Beauty Competition, 2nd runner-up in Evening Gown Contest and placed 4th in National Costumes Round.The final answer.. yes it was cuz of HER gown!!

She has walked the ramp for Roberto Cavalli, Abu Jani, Satya Paul, Preeti Chandra, Navy Coast, Hemant Trivedi, Deepika Gehani, Achala Sachdev, Abdul Halder, Rocky S, Vikram Phadnis and Neeta Lulla etc.

Now firstly Vietnam was chosen in Top 15 by MUO due to "host factor".
Then they had to choose one more Asian. The scores of Korea and India in swimsuit were high. India's score was higher than 4 girls in Top 10 . Hence if she was chosen, she would have made it to Top 10 and it has been strictly decided that Trump choices can never make it to Top 10. So India was not taken in Top 15.

As per the scores of prelims, Asians who made itto Top 15 were
Korea (12th rank; 16th in swimsuit, 19th in interview, 10th in evening gown) ,
India(13th rank - 9th in swimsuit and 4th in interview; 31st in evening gown).
The remaining "TRUMP CHOICES" were intentionally made in such a way that they don't make it to Top 10.

At Miss Universe 2008 she was ranked # 16 after the preliminaries, so she ALMOST made it :( Kinda sucks.
She's a pretty girl but not the best Miss India. That would be Lara :)
