The Winding City
Episode One: Arrivals
When Bram O'Connor returns to Wellington to flat with his childhood friend, Tama, events soon expose them to a world they never knew existed just around the corner. A very Kiwi fantasy comedy - especially for those who love sausage rolls...
==Background==
The Winding City is a four part webseries pilot shot for less than $1000 NZD with the help of volunteers and close friends. The series here is a proof of concept to show what The Winding City series would feel like.
I'm currently looking for support and funding to be able to make a full budget webseries with a professional cast and crew. If you are interested in discussing funding, support, donations or just want to chat about the show in general, feel free to contact Conan at thewcproject@gmail.com - feedback is always welcome.
The four proof of concept episodes are being released under the creative commons licence so that others can use the footage to practice VFX and such.

@evinshir Have you thought about Kickstarting your project ? I'm pretty sure you could find reasonable funding there (If so, maybe a link would be in order).

@NeoDodge I have looked into it - but unfortunately it is only available to US groups. Anyone can pay, but I need to be based in the US to start up a Kickstarter project.
I'm currently looking into an alternative site that does something similar and will post more once I have organised something. :)

The series was shot on mini-DV. I suspect that there could have been more work done on the balance. Unfortunately the owner of the camera wasn't always available to help with settings. So we had to work some things out as we went along. :) yep, Kaellos' outfit is inspired by Doctor Who. The scene where he runs past coat flying was a deliberate homage. :)

The mic was a short shotgun, Rode NTG-2. :)
I think most of the sound issues are a combination of mumbling from some cast and post. I'm looking at seeing if I can improve the sound tonight.

BTW, I did what I could to improve the sound quality. Please let me know of any personal issues with sound. It is an amateur pitch rather than polished final product, but I do want to make it the BEST amateur pilot I can. :)

I'll investigate when I get home. I might be able to do it via You Tube or else create a subtitled version at home later. I'll keep you posted. :)
