* This is a video I shot from Delta Flight 1991 - a Boeing 737-800 from Atlanta, making a quite amusing, and 'on target' landing at the airport in Key West Florida, February 24, 2010.

* Key West Airport has the shortest runway of any airport served by Delta jets. So swooping in on a relatively large 737 for a drop kick landing, with full flaps and air brakes as she pulls to a halt is a real hoot. Kudo's to the Captain and first officer for their mad skills, LOL!

* Everyone is clapping and laughing, because it was actually a pretty soft landing under the circumstances. I know the audio crackles on landing, but let me know what you think!

  • So you started your journey in Newark on DL1991 to Atlanta, which was a B737-800 (N392DA on 2/24/2010). You connected at ATL onto DL1495 to Key West, which was operated by a B737-700 (N307DQ on 2/24/2010). The video here is definitely a B737-700 operating DL1495. That's all from Delta's monthly flight data filings to the U.S. DOT via masFlight. Great video though, that's an impressive landing.

  • @markssystems I've been over this a hundred times with people throwing bogus or inaccurate DOT data at me, but history doesn't lie. She was a 737-800 front to back. It even said so on the itinerary, even though I've had people say the aircraft type isn't on it. But evidently it was. Indeed Key West is always a fun ride.

  • How did I get from the world's longest video on YouTube to this?

  • @DanielLaverriere18 From the world's longest YouTube video to one of the shortest commercial runways in the U.S. makes sense to me, lol.

  • watching a 737 do a short field landing into key west is a thing of beauty.. only 4300 feet long and special training by the pilots to go into there. nice video...
