i have a problem and i'm using vista, vlc shows on the task manager, but i can't watch the video, can't maximize the screen just minimize

My problem is somewhat similar. The audio plays normally and even the video pops up; however it appears to stutter and plays normally for 2 -3 seconds then about 20 seconds later it will play again for 2-3 seconds and all the video in between is skipped. Any fix? I'm using 1.1.8 with windows vista

OK I have a prob with VLC....I am using win 7...Before when I used VLC as my default player, it would make my toolbar icons all "VLC traffic cones"....Now i don't make it my default player....But now it does something really strange...When I install VLC, and i click on any icon like excel, word, etc on my toolbar, VLC opens up....Word, excel, etc. doesn't open...Only VLC opens up ?? Any fix ?
