10 Famous Blind People Who Changed the World
Blindness is the complete lack of form and light perception. Most people believe that we see with our eyes.
The fact is, however, that it is our brain that "perceives" what we think we see. These famous blind people have changed and shaped the world in many areas such as music, politics, science, art and sport because they refused to allow their lack of external light perception to quench or stifle their inner light. The world has been illuminated by their courage and talent.

Louis Braille
Louis Braille - (January 4, 1809-January 6, 1852)
Louis Braille accidentally stabbed himself in the eye, becoming blind from this injury. He was the inventor and designer of Braille writing which enables blind people to read from a series of organized bumps. Six dots. Six bumps. Six bumps in different patterns, like constellations, spreading out over the page. What are they? Numbers, letters, words. Who made this code? None other than Louis Braille, a French 12-year-old, who was also blind. And his work changed the world of reading and writing, forever.

Gore's most important contributions were his staunch support of the oil industry, soil conservation, and American Indian tribal issues. But he may be best remembered for his glowing tribute of his adopted state. He said, "I love Oklahoma. I love every blade of her grass. I love every grain of her sands. I am proud of her past and I am confident of her future. The virtues that made us great in the past can keep us great in the future. We must march, and not merely mark time.

I am 12 years old and I am "visually impaired". I am blind in my left eye and I can see most out of my right eye. It is hard cuz there are so many things you use your eyes for that you don't think of until u experience it such as reading a menu at a restaurant ,reading emails/texts, even reading street signs can be difficult . I am in 8th grade and I have to walk around with a magnifying glass in my pocket just incase. I don't mind not being able to see though, I am lucky to be walking and livi

their lifes must be so hard... I really admire ppl who have worse problems then others in the world, such as ppl who are blind, ppl with sick children, ppl with no arms ... I saw a video of a child with two heads... the poor mother... i saw a guy with no legs pushing himself along the street looking through rubbish bags once... things make me feel sad, but it must be awful to have a child born blind or lose your legs and i see my friends n ppl cope still, whilst others are weak and selfish.
