Jackie Wilson performs three of his biggest hits before a supper club audience with a band who doesn't really seem to have the greatest grip on his repertoire... none the less they get it together and Jackie remains cool as ever. Enjoy!

1. (Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher And Higher 2. That's Why I Love You So 3. I'll Be Satisfied

Comedian George Kirby introduces Jackie.

  • I wonder if Justin Timberlake, Brittany Spears, or any other current artist would survive on stage if they had to dance with a cord microphone.

  • @vidform Wow.. I've never actually had anybody mention those names in response to any video. Please, please, please don't do it again! lol!

You do actually have a point there. Like everything Jackie did onstage ~ he did it with flair! Thanks for stopping by!

  • I love this video and have watched it so many times but I never noticed he was holding a cigarette until today....

  • @coonakee I'm glad that you've enjoyed it. I hope that you've seen the second part as well...Cheers!

  • THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • @PoppaSweet Glad you liked it! Sorry for the late response..

  • maverick. I never really heard the story of his drug abuse. ....enlighten me....I DO remember him as a great entertainer..I LOVE HIM....that is why I listen to him over and over...but when I find such an extraordinary artist, I become interested in their personal life....Jackie had many tradegies I hear, but I'd like to get the straight story..the books out there do not seem reputable..have any suggestions? I want to learn more about him.

  • @jschuler53 forget about drug abuse and remember the man as a great entertainer which he was.RIP JACKIE

  • @jschuler53 Yeah it was rare to hear Jackie talk, but I enjoyed the video

  • @jschuler53 to the above.. I am not aware of JW drug use...what is the story there? I only heard and read he was a infamous womanizer.

  • @Blackjesus3 no I did not...and, I thought the "interview" was a joke...Jackie said about 4 words...and he comes in sweating, tired, and desperate to sit down and right away he gets asked about his boxing..you can tell by his body language that he is not into the interview and wants to rest at this moment...after a long, marathon Lonely Teardrops, let the guy rest..it was cool to hear JW actually talk...something that I've rarely heard...except for that interview compiled by his family.

  • @aknowneemus I agree..sad this is one of Jackie's last performances..the band is clueless..audience lifeless..in the presence of JW, you must MOVE in some way...some career singers today tend to be aware of the impact of smoking, drugs on their voice and take care of themselves..still I love any live video of JW; even though his voice pales a bit..he can still do a backbone split and scat and exudes excitement...thanks for the post

  • @brainysod Dint mean to be as snotty as that looks :) Audiences back "in the day" were brought up to shut the fuck up when people were on stage :D

  • @robin56 Right.

  • @brainysod It's called restraint and respect. Try it sometime!

  • I hate how the audience hardly gives a fuck...
