Psystar, a company that sell's OSX on prebuilt machines not affiliated with Apple(hackintosh's). Is currently working through a lawsuit with Apple. I checked out their website, and a maxed out "open computer" as there calling it is about $700 cheaper than a 20 inch iMac. This made me wonder, what's next for hardware manufacturer's? We've hit a point in computing where non-gamers can use computer's that don't take hours to boot. Now just make it cheaper...

  • I agree, macs are worth the money and are perfect computers

  • whatever all i know is that i dont want these cheap bastards to sue apple as a monopoly for a cheaper mac, therefore killing apple and its profits since they make a vast majority of their money from hardware. Then pretty much ending the apple as we know it. All because " ohh i would buy a mac if it was cheapper ohh i wish it would run on my HP"

  • They are not allowing competition so they can charge as much as they want without control.

  • Wrong, I am not saying that they are creating a monopoly on the actual computer, I am saying that by only letting their operating system be run on their own computers this is violating anti- trust laws. It is the operating system that is important. Voodoo and dell all run on an operating system that can run on any computer, vista or linux.

  • really, this is kind'of odd, because apple created the macintosh, its their own line of computers. Its like saying Dell should be able to make voodoo computers too since HP is basically a monopoly off of it...

  • And because they are required at some schools and businesses apple should and cannot do this. I personally think macs are perfect computers and worth the price, I do not agree with the law in this case it is just the way that things are.

  • The definition of monopoly is: exclusive control of a commodity or service in a particular market, or a control that makes possible the manipulation of prices. Apple makes macintosh computers but does not let anyone else make them therefore allowing them to make prices as much as they want, check the countless lawsuits online.

  • How are they creating a monopoly on mac ?? They created mac....Its not like mac is open to a bunch of people and their in a competition with them to run software on their own machine...

  • Before Posting a video like this why dont you do some research, apples terms of service says that you can only install mac osx on apple branded software, stick an apple sticker on it and you are ready to go, and apple is establishing a monopoly on mac by only allowing it to run on their own computer. Just keep thinking that this is illegal. Look up the trial before you make comments.

  • It would be a good idea to sell $80 computers to let more people experience using them. It may also force other companies to bring down the price of there computers.
