  • I recently got my shuttle out and working again. Been practiseing down the field. I have it on begginers settings as in the manual. I want to go inverted and do loops and things to my capabilities. I got enough pitch to fly inverted, I dont want it too extreme but just so i can progress a little. When I was going to flip it over, it seemed like it wasnt quick enough to flip with full stick. Should I change the holes on the servos to the outer ones. Would it be enough to flip it over easy ?

  • @benjyboba

To enjoy 3D flights, you can set the manual 3D is difficult. Change the servo horn is also a big need to create a linkage. You may want to set up to work with the swash plate in a dual-rate 110%.

  • I have an old shuttle like this, all standard, I have been trying to set it up for 3d, I can do some on the simulator but been thinking of trying a few small tricks on mine. What are the pitch settings you use etc. I want to do a few flips, nothing too demanding, maybe a tick tok or something. Any suggestions on set up please. Thanks. Nice flying

  • Hello because the pitch is insufficient when 3d flies in a standard shuttle, SF mixing arm (0402-507) is exchanged for a long thing. I use the mixing lever for Raptor30~30~50 of Thunder Tiger cutting it, and am +12~-12. The paddle uses 14 g.

  • very good.

did you run the engine 100% throttle on idle up?

  • Hello the throttle uses swash-throttle mixing of futaba FF9 super.

  • I have had a highly modified Zxx (since the late 90's) which I just got out of mothballs after 11 years. As others have indicated.. I too wish I had the balls to fly it like that!! I had an incident while flying and now I am not sure if my xmtr/rcvr's are damaged or not due to an intermittent 'hit' I was getting. Sadly (and perhaps typically), this only happens at high RPM. new new Xmit/Rcvr (and a piezo gyro to replace the ancient Futaba BB one). Inspirational video, thanks for sharing! ^.^

  • @daichan3d I'll have to have a fiddle, i'm on the middle hole on the current servo horns. i'm definately going to change them, I'm not too bad at 3d on a simulator, I'll stick with simple 3d. Maybe just practise inverted hover or a few flips. Thanks I got my pitch at +5 3/4 stick and -5 1/4 stick. With about 60 % power 0 pitch at half stick. I think I might have 10 or 12 deg on max pitch +-

  • @benjyboba I do mean foward back left and right, it wasnt very responsive

  • I'm going to give mine max pitch it wil go and minus, i'm more of an amature atm although on the sim I can fly in 3d a little. I was only going to try simple things, would you sugest I change my paddles and mixing arm. Also, what would be the best set up for autorotation practise. I use a futaba 7tcp. Recomended pitch angles. I'll do what I can for the time being then I might try your settings and advice, thanks

  • Wow, I just flew my old shuttle zxx today and it only has half the power your zxx has. However mine has the (also original) OS 32F-HX engine with original muffler.

    Great flying! Nice vid!

  • Nice 1, have an old shuttle ZTS thats getting a revival just wish I could fly it like that.
