These few brief glimpses into the magic that went into this marvellous picture were made available to the public for a short while on the Song of the South page of the Walt Disney Museum website. They have now been removed from the website. I'm not entirely sure why; it could be that the Disney company wasn't pleased with the fact that behind the scenes footage of a film they refuse to release should be seen by the public--or it could simply be due to the fact that the site has gone through some drastic reworking.
I would like to leave a copyright notice, however I am not aware who the rights holder of this wonderful footage is. And so I would like to simply acknowledge that this footage does not belong to me, that it is owned by someone other than myself. If anyone knows who, specifically, please let me know and I would be happy to give them credit.
And this is what makes Youtube great :p shame about the 'my country is better than yours' or religious debates.

@bpenman Or there's the possibility that this may be home movie footage. It's terribly unprofessional, and the camera seems light---like its handheld. Home wind-up color cameras rarely ever had sound. I mention 'wind-up' because you'll notice that no one scene ever lasts for very long.

@SharkWB back in the day all the audio was added in post production. Seeing as how that would cost money and because behind the scenes stuff rarely had an additional sound recorder following the cameraman around having audio on something like this would be a rare occurrence.
