State School Residents Move To New Home

A couple of former residents from the Corpus Christi State School are moving out on their own.

Tim and Danny have been living at the State School for about 10 years and just recently they moved into a group home organized by a local non-profit group called Community Options.

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house was held Saturday afternoon to welcome the new residents to the neighborhood.

With the help of state agencies, the Community Options group finds homes for people with disabilities and trains them to live on their own. They have staff on the premises to help out with chores like cooking, cleaning and laundry.
