I bet your neighbors love you.

i'm no scientist but wouldn't pouring water on it vastly increase the likelyhood that metal will develope fractures. Once the metal has several critical stress lines it would exlplode, hurling out super hot scrapnel.
I might be wrong, can sum sciencey back this up or dispel it? (i dont wanna see peeps hurt if thats the case).
Awesome pulsejet tho!
I got to make me one of these.
(Thumbs up for back yard science =)

you know what would be totally kewl.
maybe if you added some channels for water on the pipe it would help to maintain temps. and keep pressure..
awesome road warrior set up..

What is in the combustion chamber

Couldn't you encase the pipe itself in a water chamber, like old WWI Maxim machine guns?

@IronHorsez88 true, they dont produce a ton of thrust. But hey, its a jet engine. with no moving parts whatsoever. I mean, they flew bombers with these back in the old days. I think they are cool just because of how simple they are compaired to a jet turbine. If there was ever an apocalypse and someone needed to build an airplane they would probably build a pulse jet engine lol :D

if you have to blow air into it, you have essentially just made a combustion chamber yeh? not a pulse jet... pulse jets rely on the harmonic frequencies to draw in a fresh charge of air..? is that right?

Yeah, but im using the aeroguard can to premix the air/fuel and then blow it into a pipe where it ignites. The pipe is off the can by about 3mm allow the flame to pulse back and forth through the tube
