Charice Vs. Leona Vs. Whitney

Leona Lewis, Charice Pempengco, and Whitney Houston singing I Have Nothing, a little mixed together.

Couldn't really do the 'trio' thing properly because Leona's X-Factor live performance was much shorter than the original, missing the second verse. Kinda worked around it.

A little background on these three versions:

Whitney Houston sang this in the film The Bodyguard. Written by David Foster and Linda Thompson, I Have Nothing was the third single released from The Bodyguard soundtrack. It went on sale February 20 1993.

Philipino singer, Charice Pempengco, sang I Have Nothing on the Oprah Winfrey show in May 2008. The song features on Charice's debut album.

Leona Lewis sang I Have Nothing in the semi-final of X-Factor series 3 (2006).

I Have Nothing is popular on Simon Cowell's various incarnations of the X-Factor worldwide, and is one of the most performed songs on American Idol, tied for first place with Phil Collins' Against All Odds.

All three are great vocalist. Unfortunately, Whitney found Bobby (the downfall of her singing carrier).

Charice does not scream just has a stronger mid voice. Nobody who sings in high notes uses their chest voice but either a mixed voice or straight head voice (like most male tenors who sing opera).

I don't know why but, Charice to me sounds so beautiful and very comforting to my ears. I mean I know she's screaming but, I think that when she screams it is the most beautiful sound ever. Only on her songs.
