  • hey mr historian i have a very speical request can you upload the 2003 game vs houston it was my first game at the big house thanks i really would like that

  • I went to that game too. But I'm sorry to say I didn't tape it.

  • Hey great post. Do you by chance still have a copy of the Michigan's 58-0 victory over Indiana in 2000? That was a fun lopsided win and it was the first game I got to see in person.

  • I saw that game in person too. But I'm sorry to say, I didn't tape it.

  • I remember hearing about Houston's gimmicky run-and-shoot offense.

How did you feel about Houston? Did you think they'd put up a fight, or did you see a rout?

  • I was pretty young at the time this game was played so I don't remember. But I've read that Houston took great delight in humiliating opponents in the Southwest Conference back in those days.

Just 2 years prior, they threw seven 4th Quarter TD's in a crushing defeat of Southern Methodist 95-21. Many lopsided scores in those days and this time, they knew what it felt like.

  • Favored by 18, win by 54.

  • You're right. Houston is still recovering. Who knows? If they can win the Conference USA title again this season, they may prove to be getting back on their feet again. With hires like Kim Helton and Dana Dimel they completely crushed the program.

Kevin Sumlin is a good coach though, and Bob Stoops knows it.

  • @commodorefan2 SMU coach Forrest Gregg said, "I'd never run up the score like that on a group of freshmen and sophomores. I hope they're really proud of their accomplishment. It was a sad day for college football."

  • @commodorefan2 correct. Andre Ware was 25-41 for 517 yards and 5 pass TDs in the 2nd quarter. At that point it was 59-14 Houston. David Klingler threw 20 passes (12 for those being deep passes). they had a grand total of 1021 yards (771 passing and 250 rushing). 14 of the players on SMU in that game were freshmen.

  • @WolverineHistorian 1 year after the death penalty for football as well...This year though I honestly think michigan would destroy houston, which i would not mind seeing. please put up 90.

  • @chrisuncleahmad this year, houston put up 73 on Rice and Tulane

  • @wolverinehistorian

you should add yesterday's OSU vs Michigan game to your list. you guys earned it fair and square.

  • @Martaan66 good job vs my buckeyes. Michigan was the better team this year, and they also got a good 10-2 record. i have highlights of yesterday's game on my page.
