Hey all,
You can now OWN THIS ENTIRE CONCERT as a 2-CD set!
Recorded on July 2, 1977 in Hallenstadion, Zurich Switzerland, this is a COMPLETE show from the Wind & Wuthering tour. It is the next to last performance of Steve Hackett with Genesis so this is a real collector's item.

A hypnotic psychedelic acid trip featuring the music of Genesis. What is really special here is that this is a recording of a live performance in Switzerland on July 2, 1977. The next day in Germany would be Steve Hackett's last performance with Genesis. This is also the next to last day of the last show of the Wind & Wuthering tour. They sound GREAT here. Be sure to expand the video to full view for maximum effect. Produced & Directed by TommyGun

  • Genesis = A good acid trip EVERY time

  • @deathmetalhippy Too bad good acid is extremely hard to come by these days

  • Wondeful guitar, was it still Steve, or did he already left at that time? Looks like the great Hackett sound.

By the way, what did he do after he left the band?

  • It's still Steve Hackett here. After he left the band he put out some solo albums

  • Which of his solo albums is the best?

  • My favorite is Voyage of the Acolyte which he actually released while still w/Genesis in 1975. His first post-Genesis album is Please Don't Touch released in 1978. Do a google search of "steve hackett" wikipedia to find out more about his solo career. Then you can take it from there

  • Indistinguishable blend of guitar and keyboard sound....perfect mesh! This shit is live? Gorgeous! Anyone who says Genesis sucked after Peter Gabriel left doesn't understand the power of pure instrumental music!!!

  • ..and we wonder if Steve really knows what a classic he created. Sure hope he does.

  • @BVERRIER Spectral Mornings (1979) is great too!

  • If you get the CD, you can enhance it yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed.

  • By Autumn 1977, Steve Hackett left the band.

  • Best Steve Hackett albums: (tough question)..'the tokyo tapes' (both audio & video). With that they do 'In this quiet earth'. 2) any one of the first 4 albums. Each one has their respective gems. 3) best acoustic. probably Bay of Kings. or Momentum. If he ever plays near you he is worth seeing..Great guitarist with band & lyrics to crush you with, with a smile on his/your face.

  • WE NEED SOME SORT OF VIDEO LIVE FEED.

  • GREAT TO HEAR THIS TRACK LIVE! They seem to have remained very close to the studio version as I recall. Sometimes live versions of LP/CD tracks can be vastly different -and in a positive way sometimes!

A little enhancing (avoiding the term processing!) might be beneficial as there seems to be an excess of midrange & top end with cymbals overly prominent drowning out the rest So enhancing the almost inaudible bass would be good! (just a thought TommyGunn1028)!

  • great live version of a pearl hackett!

  • @Tommygun1028 "Spectral Mornings" and "Defector" are some good solo albums from Steve, in addition to the ones you mentioned :)
