* * *When this siren was built by ACA, it was called PN20. When it was made by ASC, the name was called RM-130.* * *

This is a American Signal RM-130 located behind Midland High School in Midland, Michigan. I don't know why but this siren went off 8 minutes before the normal test time and as I was trying to get the camera positioned properly, the siren just all of a sudden went off and I pressed the record button as fast as I could. In the background, you can hear a low pitched T-128 coming from Plymouth Park about 2 miles or so north of this siren.

  • why did aca bankrupt?.

  • @ricofojas2011 That I don't remember why. They weren't bankrupt for a long time though. I believe it was 1992 when it happened and then the company changed into ASC.

  • is it still made?.

  • @ricofojas2011 Sadly no. T-128s would be the closest replacement to this or if you want to be more hard core, you can go with a T-135.

  • RM-130... the stepping stone between Penetrator and Tempest?

Cetrainly looks like a strange prequel to the T-128... how many ports?

  • @DasMidnightDrifter Every RM-130 is 9 port while the T-128s are 8 port and yes the RM-130 was the stepping stone which is why these are more rare then the RM-127s.

  • We have RM-130s all over the city. Decatur,Illinois. We also have one SD-10 but I do not know if It still there or not. I live in Decatur all my life.

  • I live Midland County and all of our RM-130s and T-128s work great. Midland County tests their sirens of the first Saturday of each month at 12:45 PM and a "Growl" test occurs every Saturday at 12:45 PM.

  • sounds like a 2001 but its a good siren

  • I live in Midlan County. As a matter of fact we had a Tornado Warning and was at my friends house who lives just a few miles from Dowtown Midland. This Siren is still up and running but I tell you they have a few nice T-128's as well.

  • Idk about you but i just sounds like another Federal Signal 2001

  • mine sounds like its talking
